On the November 25th 2013 one more Multinational CIMIC Basic Course started as scheduled.
7 instructors out of 5 different countries (Greece, Italy, Poland, USA, and Turkey) and 36 students (from France, Greece, Italy, Qatar, Spain, U.A.E.,) civilians and military from NRDC-GR HQ and SEEBRIG, have responded with participation in this 2 weeks course.
During the course, students will attend 40 hours of academic classes, where issues relevant to CIMIC TTPs and doctrine are addressed and explained in detail. Moreover, trainees will have the opportunity to carry out field exercises in confidence building in a CIMIC environment, negotiation and liaison techniques, media handling and crisis management.
During their stay in Greece a tentative program with cultural events will follow, to allow trainees to visit famous Greek antiquities, such as the war museum of Thessaloniki and the archaeological site of Vergina where the tomb of King Phillip II (father of Alexander the Great) is located. Furthermore an official course dinner will take place to Thessaloniki's officers club.
